Mig-15 Texturing

Responsibilities: UV unwrapping, texturing, model optimiying

I was responsible for the UV layout and texturing of this plane. I also needed to optimize and tweak the mesh to make it ready for real time render engines.

The bumpy look of the metal surface required special attention since it is a trade mark of this plane. The surface also needed to look battered and battle worn, yet it also needed to still appear ready for its next mission.

The Mig-15 is also decorated with many rivet lines which had to be replicated as accurately as possible.

The UV layout had to be efficiently spaced to provide the maximum amount of resolution allowed by the real time render engine. Allowed were 4 2k UV sets for the exterior. The interior was handled by another artist.
